Short Projects
Below you can see various short projects that I have done over the course of my studies so far. It varies between internal university or private projects and commissions.
1st semester project
Over the course of the first semester, we dealt with aesthetics and how form can reflect different things. The aim of the task was to sculpturally create two adjectives with malleable foam. The first adjective was free to choose, whereas the second had to end with -able. I used graceful as the first word. I tried to create a perfect and elegant organic form that is balanced by the rotation on only one very small point. It should almost look as if you could see someone dancing.
As my second word, I decided on separable. In hindsight, I probably would have chosen a different word, as expressions like breakable, tearable and distinguishable can quickly look very similar visually. Nevertheless, I opted for an organic shape and a curved dividing line, as breaking edges are usually straight. The aim is to create the feeling of a coherent form that is only separated by an incision.
Remix
Together with the Master's degree course in Product Development, various projects were created in a one-week workshop on the topic of developing a household product in which the functions are reduced to the essentials and special attention is paid to sustainability.
This involved identifying problems, brainstorming ideas, making drafts, carrying out calculations, drafting design concepts and creating CAD models.
The design was finalized in SolidWorks and rendered in Blender/Keyshot. It was particularly exciting to plan a project down to the smallest detail. This involved finding out about supply chains, weighing up different materials based on various factors, right down to "how many engines fit into a regulated shipping container?".
Chick me out
A short project during the 2nd semester, in which we worked in groups of two on the emotionality of products and design. The overall theme was the celebration of Easter. My team partner Seoun was born in South Korea and we realized early on the immense cultural differences in the celebration of Easter.
After a bit of brainstorming, we decided on a kind of mystery box concept for a 3-course menu. As we all know, the way to someone´s heart is through their stomach, which is why we thought that bringing the family together by preparing and experiencing international and culinary Easter traditions together was the ideal idea.
design order
This was an assignment where I was asked to design the back of a deck of cards for a corporate promotional gift. Father and son are depicted as king and jester. The QR code is integrated to lead customers directly to the agency's website. The job was a nice little change of pace that allowed me to let off some steam in Photoshop.
